4 Yrs-old Along With His Family Traveled to Bengaluru for Lifesaving Heart Transplant

At just 4 years-old, is the youngest cases of heart transplant in the city. But he knew this one was different.

The family tried getting him treated in their hometown, his condition only got worse, and the child’s struggle since she was two as he’s the third generation in his family with this sickness; his father and grandfather have been additionally born with it. After registration for the transplant, the wait was around 11 months that when the child received a suitable heart on December 21, 2019 thus began his cheer. “He went into surgery so positive.” and the doctors done the surgical operation. He got discharged from the hospital in 15 days after the surgery which leaded him to a normal life.  In fact, the surgeon says, a heart transplant can be successful done in selected cases with outstanding outcomes in youngsters as young as less than 1 yr age. According to Dr Julius Punnen, heart and lung transplant surgeon, Narayana health city, stated, “Apart from blood match the crucial element is the weight match. A patient can obtain a heart from someone who is about two and a half times heavier than himself or hers. In this case, as the team ensured the child was a healthy as well as has an optimal weight we may want to find a matching donor and save his life by performing the heart transplant.”

Less than a month after his surgery, the child was discharged from the hospital as his surgery was very long which lasted for 4 hours. The family stayed nearby the Narayana Health hospital in Bengaluru while he received ongoing monitoring at the hospital, and that they could be able to go back to Kolkata in West Bengal. Now, “he can run, jump and says ‘mom, I can do the stairs again!” There wasn’t just one victory day for our boy. “With his new heart, there are little victories for him each day,” the family added. The family stated our child heart transplant surgery journey taught us all as a family lot. We’ve never lost hope, but all of it worked out. We’ve all grown a lot, specifically because he had such a good results.”
